Air Show! & Squadron Dinners

Air Show: This is the big day, the highlight activity of LACB30. You are up and ready with your wristband in place and your airshow ticket in hand. The busses start loading at 0930 in front of the hotel. Slather on your sunscreen, grab your protective hat and head on down. The last bus departs at 1000, so don't be late or you'll be watching the airshow from afar.

You need to have your wristband on and ticket to get on the bus. If you want to go to the airshow and didn't sign up, show up and we will try to accommodate you. Just understand that you will have to go to the back of the line until we make sure we've taken care of all who signed up in advance.

Remember, you can not take purses, cloth hand bags, backpacks, etc., into the flight line security area. So, we will not allow you to bring such items on board the bus unless you are willing to leave them on the bus at your own risk. Make it easy for yourself. If you need to carry personal items to the chalet, get a clear plastic bag from Mary ahead of time, put your items in it so Miramar security can see it. You can download MCAS Miramar's flight line security policy at http://www.miramarairshow.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Security-and_FAQ-Downloadable-Packet_2018.pdf.

We have three chalet tents on the flight line right in front of where the Blue Angels will start engines. The chalets will be clearly marked with appropriate banners, so come on in and pick your spot.

Your admission includes open bar, beer, wine and basic mixed drinks served at bars located throughout the chalet area. It also includes lunch with a wide array of food choices. So, wander around and see what tickles your fancy!

There will be numerous show events throughout the day. The highlight, of course is the Blue Angels. They perform from 3 until 4.

The buses will start loading immediately after the completion of the Blue Angels airshow. So, if you want to visit the exhibits, make sure you do that before the Blues perform.

We need to fill all of the buses to ensure no one is left behind, so please be there on time so that you don't make the end of everyone else's day unpleasant.

Squadron Dinners: There are several squadron dinners happening Friday evening. The ones we know about are listed on the Squadron Dinners web page.

Check them out and if your squadron is listed, contact the host and let him know you'd like to attend. If your squadron is not listed, meet up with your buddies early in the weekend and think about arranging something.

The Ready Room will be open throughout the day from 0900 - 2300. So, if you are not attending the Air Show, drop on by for a visit with old friends. It's a good time; don't miss the opportunity.

When you're out of F8's, you're out of fighters.
